The free SEO audit that tells you exactly what to fix.
39 checks across on-page, technical, performance, content, and indexability. Hand-written fixes for every issue — no AI fluff, no signup, results in under a minute.
How it works
Paste your URL
Any publicly accessible URL works — homepage, landing page, blog post. No installation, no browser extension, no DNS configuration.
We run 39 real checks
On-page tags, heading structure, HTTPS config, Core Web Vitals via Google PSI, crawlability, content quality, structured data — checked against current best practices.
Get a scored report with fixes

Why we built this
Most SEO tools are built for the US and UK market, priced in dollars, and gated behind trials that assume fast broadband and a corporate email address. We built Beacon because African founders and developers deserve the same quality of technical feedback — without a sales call first.
The audit is free because the tool is the funnel. If you find Beacon useful, we think you'll eventually want the paid tier: continuous monitoring, multi-page audits, team access. But that comes later. Right now, we just want you to have the report.
Every fix you see was written by a human who understands what the check actually means. No generated boilerplate. If it says "your title tag is too short", it tells you the exact character count Google targets and why it matters in practice — not a re-phrased Wikipedia paragraph.
Common questions
Yes — completely free, no credit card, no trial period. You paste a URL, we run the checks, you get a scored report with specific fixes. The only gate is a voluntary email request when you want to download the PDF version of your report.
No. There is no signup, no login, no account. You paste a URL, get results. If you want to receive your report by email or download it as a PDF, we'll ask for your address at that point — but it's optional.
Most audits complete in under 60 seconds. The exact time depends on how quickly your server responds and whether your site uses a CDN. Core Web Vitals data comes from Google's PageSpeed Insights API, which occasionally adds a few extra seconds.
39 checks across five categories: On-page (15 checks — titles, meta descriptions, heading structure, Open Graph, canonical tags, image alt text, and more), Technical (9 — HTTPS, robots.txt, sitemap, compression, HTTP version, security headers, redirect chains), Performance (5 Core Web Vitals — LCP, INP, CLS, FCP, TTFB), Content (6 — word count, readability score, keyword density, broken links, JSON-LD structured data, hreflang), and Indexability (4 — meta robots, X-Robots-Tag, status codes, canonical self-reference).
We store the audit results so your report URL remains accessible. We don't crawl or store your full site content. If you provide an email address, it's used only to send your report — not for marketing without your explicit consent. Audit records are retained for 30 days.
Lighthouse and PageSpeed Insights focus primarily on performance and accessibility. Beacon covers the broader SEO picture: meta tags, canonical configuration, structured data, robots directives, content quality signals, and indexability issues that neither tool checks. We also write human-readable fix instructions for every failed check — not just scores.
Right now the tool audits a single URL per run. Multi-page crawling is on the roadmap for the paid tier. For now, we'd suggest auditing your homepage, your most important landing page, and a representative inner page — that usually surfaces 80% of the site-wide issues.
Pass means the check found no issues. Warn means something is technically present but needs improvement — for example a title tag that's too long, or a meta description that's a little short. Fail means the check found a clear problem that's likely affecting your search performance. Every Warn and Fail comes with specific instructions on what to fix.
